Con apenas 17 años de edad, la montereña Karen Salazar fue elegida esta madrugada Miss Santa Cruz 2011; mientras que Daniela Núñez del Prado fue seleccionada como Señorita Santa Cruz. Ambas participarán en el concurso Miss Bolivia.
La ganadora del certamen se mostró alegre tras ser coronada por su antecesora, Olivia Pinheiro. La emoción y la sorpresa se entremezclaron, y luego de recuperar la respiración, Salazar agradeció a sus padres por el logro conseguido y al pueblo de Montero por el apoyo que le brindó. “No lo esperaba, pero le doy gracias a Dios por este triunfo“.
Ambas representantes de la belleza, luego de escuchar el veredicto final, sólo atinaron a darse un abrazo de alegría y júbilo.
También el jurado eligió a Yohana Vaca como Miss Litoral y Jessica Bouton se llevó el título de Señorita Litoral; esta última se perfilaba como la favorita para adjudicarse el primer lugar del certamen que se desarrolló en el salón Sirionó del campo ferial.
El acto empezó alrededor de las 22.10 del jueves. El jurado estuvo integrado por la ex Miss Santa Cruz 2004, Paola Moreno; el escritor Paz Padilla, la concejala Desirée Bravo, el futbolista Erwin Sánchez, la presentadora de televisión Jimena Antelo, el periodista Roberto Carlos Hurtado y la ex Miss Santa Cruz 1979, Patricia Asbún.
